Walking from Trafalgar Square

From the central fountain area, head north up Charing Cross Road. After about four minutes, turn left into Newport Place and then Little Newport Street. We are at number 8.

If you are coming from the National Gallery side of the square, exit through the back of the gallery onto Pall Mall East and head north. Same destination, slightly different angle.

Why we are the closest halal Chinese option

Trafalgar Square sits in the south-west corner of theatreland. The restaurants around it are mostly chains, hotel restaurants, or pre-theatre venues. Halal options are limited and rarely Chinese.

If you want halal Chinese food and you are starting from Trafalgar Square, your shortest walk is to The Greedy Sheep. We are 100% halal certified, the kitchen is exclusively halal, and our meat supplier holds HFA certification.

This is the only fully halal Chinese restaurant in Chinatown - which is itself the densest concentration of Chinese restaurants in Europe.

What to eat

Our menu is Northern Chinese street food, drawn from the Silk Road cuisine of Xi'an and Lanzhou. The kitchen has been built around halal principles from day one - this is not adapted Cantonese, this is Northern Chinese as it has always been served by Hui (Chinese Muslim) cooks.

If you are visiting London for the day, Trafalgar Square is on most itineraries. Add lunch at The Greedy Sheep and you can hit:
